R.I.P. Original Polaroid

Looks like the company that technically "produced" most of the old family photos on my website is leaving the business they started. Can't say I blame 'em though, digital photography is a LOT more efficient and cheaper than those "instant photos". Typical "point, shoot, peel layer after 60 seconds" photo:



The later, more convenient "Polaroid One-Step" era, where the camera regurgitated the photo, and you didn't have to "peel":



That last photo was the one the salesman at Montgomery Ward took of my mom when she was there buying the One-Step camera in December 1977.
