For the first time in around 26 years, I set foot in my old school this morning, Riser Elementary/Middle School, to drop off some paperwork regarding my son attending there this fall. Didn't get to see the person I needed to see, the guidance counselor, but did see the principal, and he said he would see that the counselor gets the papers when she comes in, which he wasn't quite sure when that would be. They'll need to get his records from the Baton Rouge school he attended last, Southeast Middle School. The place hasn't changed much on the inside since the days I attended, but the outside has been totally remodeled. Place even smelled the same inside as I remembered from way back then...
