Moms... Couldn't Live Without 'Em... etc...

Shortly after returning from work Wednesday afternoon, my mom calls the house and says she just saw on the "KNOE 8 Report" that a "James Stricklin" was killed in an auto accident near the Ouachita/Caldwell Parish border. She knows I have a friend James Stricklin who drives a small white pick-up, and she said there was video on KNOE showing a mangled small white pick-up. Needless to say, she had me in a panic. I went to the KNOE website, nothing there. Then I went to the local newspapers website, thenewsstar.com, and got the actual details. It was no where near what she said... the victim was a "Damon E. Strickland" (different spelling, especially on the FIRST name) aged 28 (James is an old coot like me), and was driving a 1994 Isuzu pick-up (James drives a 1995 Ford Ranger) that crossed the center line and hit an 18 wheeler head on.

Mom said a while back she thought her hearing wasn't what it used to be... starting to agree with her now... Still want her to have a "Happy Mother's Day" though :-)
