Just been watching the news on TV. New Orleans is basically "no more". There have been two breaks in the levee system so far, and the city is starting to fill with water. Shepard Smith just reported on Fox News that the French Quarter has water 9 inches and steadily rising. Water is rising near the Superdome, where most of the covering on the roof was ripped off by the hurricane. There is an evacuation order in effect there. People are looting left and right. There is no electricity, no phone service. Even cell phones are only working sporadically. The water system has been contaminated. Basically, New Orleans is a non-functional city now. Damn!
