New Equipment

After I got off work this morning, I went by Wal-Mart and finally bought a new sound card for the computer. The one that came with the computer is built into the motherboard, and only has output that requires the speakers/headphones to have their own amplification power, which made it difficult when "voice conferencing" with someone...had to wear the headset, speak through the mic part, sit FAR back from the speakers and listen through them... move too close, feedback city!
Got home, installed the new card before doing anything else. It is a Creative Sound Blaster 16 PCI card, cost $29.83. Haven't adjusted the sound levels accurately yet, but it DOES work...get a good listenable level through the headphones now. Amplified speakers that came with the PC are plugged into "Line out" jack, headsets into "Speaker Out" jack, meaning I can leave everything plugged in, won't have to keep "swapping wires".
