Needed to replace AAA batteries in a remote. Remembered I had some in the night stand drawer in the bedroom. Expiry date was "MAR 2018". Batteries were corroded. They were Duracell brand.

Batteries, especially before the expiry date, shouldn't corrode while still in the package! I don't buy Duracell often, after finding out the much cheaper Panasonic batteries last JUST as long, if not longer, than Duracells. To be safe, I looked through all my devices, and removed any Duracell batteries I found, tossed them, and replaced them with Panasonics.

I can remember bask a few decades ago when Duracell was considered "THE" brand to buy. Today, not so much. May have something to do with Proctor and Gamble buying them out a few years ago. Proctor and Gamble is a "household cleaning and health" type company. What da FUCK dey know 'bout BATTERIES?!?
