Round and round...

Talked to a "Joey" yesterday at IDS about the issue of the DSL going out at the same time the past few evenings. He said they "changed a few settings", and if I still had problems today, to call Phyllis here in Monroe, and he gave me a number.

Had the same issues last night, so called the number. Started telling her my problem, she stopped me, said she was in "Billing", and couldn't help me. I told her "Joey" had told me to call her, she didn't understand why, and patched me back through to "Joey". Joey put me on a speakerphone with another woman, who ran a diagnostic on my line, and said it was taking ALL my bandwidth to run the test. While I was in the middle of telling her more symptoms, I suddenly heard a dial tone. Then Joey called back, said they were going to talk to DGS (whatever that is) about my problem, and they'd call back, meaning ANOTHER morning on hold!

Even though I had a LOT of issues with AT&T DSL (dropped them when they started capping), I don't ever recall ever getting this kind of run around in the support department. Support was quicker and more reliable before the local ISP sold out. Wonder if the owner of the local ISP knew what he was getting into when he sold the company?

Everything seems fine until about 8pm or so, and that is when the internet starts crapping out. Woke up close to 3am and did a Speakeasy.net test, speeds were normal again. So I'm still guessing the main issues are between 8pm-midnight.

UPDATE: Well, the internet issues appear to be on AT&T's end... now gotta wait for THEM! No time frame given...

Here I was thinking Andrew had outgrown his "tantrums". Just had to pick him up from school because he got into a hissy fit in the cafeteria over a plate. Apparently, according to the supervisor, he grabbed a plate that wasn't his. When confronted about it, he slammed it down hard. As usual, Andrew says that wasn't what happened, that he never slammed a plate down, and that the FOUR adults that witnessed it are all plotting against him.

He had went off with his friend Kyle (the one I talked about earlier with the personality of Eddie Haskell from "Leave It to Beaver" and the looks of something from a horror flick) yesterday afternoon, and didn't make it back till nearly midnight. He was expected back before 9pm. I'm guessing the tantrum arose because of his lack of sleep last night, of course he denies that also. Anywho, I've banned him from going ANYWHERE with that Kyle guy for a MONTH. That family NEVER does anything at the time they say they will... it's like they are illiterate and never learned how to read clocks!

Because of the tantrum, he can't go back to school until Friday. All the way home, he was griping how he's going to fail his class from being out so many days, and how the whole WORLD is against him. He blames EVERYONE BUT himself for his problems, yet he's the one bringing them on to himself!

I've told him, since he's 18, if he doesn't start shaping up soon, I may just send him packing... getting too old for this shit.

If I knew I wouldn't get arrested, I'd punch his mother right in the face!

Internet Update...

AT&T guy just left. Replaced a card in the "box" up the road. Said the internet in that box for everyone was "all over the place" signal wise. Gave me his number, said if the internet starts crapping out again tonight, give him a call.

Mom tests...

Mom went to the hospital this afternoon for her scheduled tests. They did a breathing test, and a heart ultrasound. She should find out the results in the next few days.

What with that, having to pick the boy up from school, and waiting around for the AT&T guy, it's been quite a day!
