Extremely Random DVD Related Post

Even though I still have a HUGE stack of unwatched DVDs to go through, I'm thinking today I'm going to dig into the huge collection I've bought and watched in the past, watching bits and pieces at random. The reason, I'm wanting to see how some of the widescreen movies I have from a few years ago look on the newer LCD, upconverted on the Blu-ray player. I have a lot of older DVDs that I know aren't anamorphic widescreen, but I'm just curious how well they adapt to a widescreen TV, and last time I watched them was on the old 27" Sony CRT. I watched "Cabaret" again the other day, and was disappointed. It was a rectangular box in the middle of the screen, if left on "Full" view... somewhat improved on "Wide Zoom", but not much.

Thinking I'm going to start with Blake Edwards "10", mainly because it's been a while since I watched it anyway, and it's one of my favorite movies... Dudley Moore makes me laugh my posterior off... and Bo Derek is rather fetching (still IS)! That is one of many movies I think has only had one DVD release, and desperately needs either a DVD upgrade or a Blu-ray re-issue!

If you get extremely bored and want to spy on a fat old coot sitting in front of a TV, you can do it here, or...
