This new release of "The Wizard of Oz" on DVD looks like it could have been filmed yesterday, instead of 1939! You can see Judy Garland's freckles, the burlap lines in Ray Bolger's face, rust and rivets not previously noticed on Jack Haley, and the string holding up Bert Lahr's tail! At one point, Margaret Hamilton made a sudden head turn, and you could see where the green facepaint ended at the back of her neck! Bought the 3-DVD set Monday, but just now got around to the actual movie (I have a habit of watching "bonus features" first when I buy a DVD). The picture quality blows away the two previous versions I've purchased in the past, a VHS version, and the 1999 DVD version.
