This evening, I digitized the next four episodes of the Tape and Record Show Enterprises fake radio series "TRS Presents: Soap" from the original "broadcast" audio cassettes... "TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 45: Broadcast Monday, July 28,1986 at 9:00pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). Musical Intermission: "Down On Me" (Janis Joplin) / In this week's episode: Chester finds out that Jessica still enjoys being with Detective Donahue, the Campbell family meet Jodie's gay girlfriend, Burt sees a UFO after he and Danny go looking for Elaine's kidnappers, and Corrine learns that her baby is possessed. TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 46: Broadcast Monday, August 4,1986 at 9:00pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). Musical Intermission: "Me and Bobby McGee" (Janis Joplin) / In this week's episode: Burt tells Mary about his flying saucer sighting, Benson tries to release Billy from the Sunnies, Jessica meets Donahue in a French restaurant, Alice and Jodie are jealous of their dates, and Tim tries without success to exorcise the baby. TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 47: Broadcast Monday, August 18,1986 at 9:00pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). Musical Intermission: "Another Brick In The Wall [Part II]" (Pink Floyd) / In this week's episode: Jessica, Mary, and Corrine all think they are to blame for the Devil's presence, Danny finds Elaine's murderers but gets himself abducted in the process, Billy is brainwashed by the Sunnies, Jessica tells the Devil she has had enough and he leaves, and she gets prepared to make her decision between Chester and Detective Donahue. TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 48: Broadcast Monday, October 6,1986 at 9:00pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Jessica makes her decision between Chester and Donahue and Chester wins - prompting Donahue to faint, Burt - on board the space ship - finds out the aliens have sent a double down to Earth to replace him, Carol's mother brings Jodie his child, and every time Detective Donahue tries to leave the Tate household he faints and throws up." Episodes 45 and 46 were on the same 60-minute "Laser" branded cassette. Pressure pad decided to "give up the ghost" after I finished transferring side one, which contained episode 45, so I had to replace the pad before digitizing episode 46 on side two. I have one more strip of ten adhesive replacement pressure pads, so I may have to order more soon, since I still have numerous cassettes left to digitize. Seems on some of the cheaper brands of audio cassettes, the foam pads tend to self-destruct after nearly four decades. On the bright side, after I get all the old cassettes digitized, I shouldn't (in principle) have to fight with the old cassettes again. The "Musical Intermission" listed on the "broadcast" index card for episode 46(where the episode descriptions come from) doesn't match what is on the actual cassette. Instead of "Me and Bobby McGee", it's actually "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce. In episode 48, no "Musical Intermission" was listed on the original index card, but the song "Try Me" by James Brown is included. Also in episode 48, we learn that space aliens speak most Earth languages fluently, and they also "disco".
