This evening, I completed the digitization of three more episodes of the Tape and Record Show Enterprises series "TRS Jukebox" from 1984...

TRS Jukebox: Episode 40: Broadcast Monday, June 18, 1984 at 9:00pm central. Theme Music: HBO Video Jukebox Theme. - "One Hour Look At Street Music" - Songs include: Lovelite(O'Bryan), Beat Box(Art of Noise), Freakshow On The Dance Floor(Bar-Kays), Tour de France(Kraftwerk), It's Like That(Run D.M.C.), In The Mix(Roger Troutman), Rockit(Herbie Hancock), Jam On It(Newcleus), New York New York(Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five), Radio Activity(Royal Cash)."

Episode 38 wasn't given a formal title at the time, but it looks like I was shooting for an episode featuring the words "Rock 'n' Roll", "Rockin'", and "Rock" in the names of the songs. The song "Rock 'n' Roll Party Queen" from the film "Grease" was misattributed on the original handwritten "broadcast detail" index card as being performed by Frankie Valli. It was actually performed by Louis St. Louis.

Episode 39 seemed to lean more toward the "novelty" genre of music. The "broadcast master" was recorded on one of the notorious Memorex cassettes, and as expected, I had to replace the pressure pad before transferring the tape. Didn't help the sound quality much however. Since starting this transfer project, I've come to REALLY hate Memorex and Radio Shack cassettes from that era. They just don't "age" well.

Episode 40, which was a one hour "broadcast", actually had a formal title, although the Kraftwerk song is a bit out of place, since they were more of an electronic "techno" group. If it seems there aren't many songs for a one hour "broadcast", it's because several in the episode were extended 12" single versions.
