The format change James decided to make for season three of the "Song Mirage" sounded good "on paper", but the concept of including his wife at the time just didn't work out well for some reason, so after this second episode with the format, the project was scrapped, and the show went back to the old format the following week. Michelle sings along with "All At Once" and "Mama He's Crazy", James sings along with "Ain't Misbehavin'".

Episode 33 of "The Independent Sampler" opens with a song about the Edwin Edwards trial from 1985. After actually listening to this show for the first time since the 1990's, the artist COULD be either "Fill In The Blanks" or "Phil and The Blanks", judging from the way Dennis announced it. Only he knows for sure. I just copied what I had written on the index card at the time.

Episode 34 is the first of 32 additional edited episodes I had "in the can", but never got around to actually utilizing. Even though the episode WOULD have been "aired" by TRSE around 1992, there's mention by Dennis of the "new format" of compact disc. Gives you some idea of how many half hours were padded out of the actual mid-1980's three hour weekend KNLU radio broadcasts.

There's a bit of something "unusual" with Dennis Goodwin's "The Independent Sampler". In the archives, there are a whopping additional 32 half-hour episodes edited from the original weekend 3-hour KNLU ACTUAL radio broadcasts, which TRSE never got around to "airing" in the weekly half-hour format before the organization started its slow demise. It was in 1992 when I stumbled across the now ex-wife, who, since she was anti-social, pretty much killed my social life, which STILL hasn't recovered to this day. If that hasn't occurred, the extra shows would have probably found a TRSE "airdate". I'll eventually digitize all of those also, but they won't have "broadcast dates" for the half hours, they will just be labeled as "Previously Unreleased Episodes" when I get around to them. Typing content descriptions for the "unaired" recordings will be more time consuming for the project also, since I'll have to listen closely and take notes. There are no handy index cards for recordings I never got around to using, since those were never "officially broadcast" on the weekly Tape and Record Show Enterprises schedule. The original audio cassettes are "sparsely labeled".
