Digitized more "broadcasts" from the 1980's Tape and Record Show Enterprises archives this evening, consisting of two more flagship "Tape and Record Show" fifth season episodes from the original compiled audio cassettes...

I Love L.A.(Randy Newman) / "SCTV Comedy Network" - A strike at the station threatens the "Sammy Maudlin Anniversary Show". Cast includes John Candy, Andrea Martin, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Rick Moranis, Joe Flaherty, Dave Thomas. / You're Nobody (Michelle Haney and cousin) / Short Feature: Sex With A Smurfette.

The Tape & Record Show: Episode 403, Broadcast Friday, September 30, 1983 at 10:00pm central. Theme Music: Beethoven's 5th Symphony(Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra). "Even More Unexpurgated Benny Hill" - Skits include: Paradise Island, Shod Horse, Misplaced Vehicle, The Classroom, Assorted comedy vignettes, and a spoof of "The Monte Carlo Show", in which Benny portrays Patrick Wayne and Kenny Rogers. / "The Elvis Presley Story, Part 41: Elvis Is Fading"."

Episode 402 had another episode of the NBC incarnation of "SCTV Comedy Network" as the main feature. A small interstitial clip of Michelle Haney and "cousin" performing an a cappella version of "You're Nobody" appears in the episode. Can't for the life of me recall where/when that was recorded, since I haven't run across it on any other TRSE productions so far. Also, I have no recollection who Michelle's cousin was (since her name wasn't included in the original handwritten index card "broadcast" description), even though they did a great job singing the song. The "Short Feature" at the end of the episode is DEFINITELY only for "mature audiences". It derives from a "cardboard record" which was included in an issue of an adult magazine at the time. Can't remember WHICH magazine, since I no longer have the record, but I THINK it might have been "Hustler". It was obviously a 33 1/3 speed record, but for "comedic effect", I sped it up to 45rpm for this "airing". Also, since a certain term was used by the woman in the recording, I inserted a short snippet of a Monty Python song into the mix, making it even MORE humorous in my opinion.

Episode 403 brought back the old first season first theme music, but with new announcements. The main feature was another of those HBO compilation episodes of "The Benny Hill Show", which, apart from a FEW sketches, makes no real sense in an audio only format. But, it's digitized now, so there's that!
