Reuses of Older Material

The two late season four episodes of Tape and Record Show Enterprises flagship series "The Tape and Record Show" digitized from the original edited "broadcast" audio cassettes this evening provided a bit of "deja vu" from other semi-recent transfers...

"The Tape & Record Show: Episode 383, Broadcast Friday, April 1, 1983 at 10:00pm central. Theme Music: Runaway(Bill Conti). "You Dropped A Bomb On Me"(The Gap Band, announced by Jerry Sanders) / "Dallas: A House Divided" - Part One of the five part "Who Shot J.R.?" story arc. J.R.'s friends, family, and business associates vow revenge on him; Bobby and Pam leave Southfork. / "The Elvis Presley Story, Part 26: Elvis Is Back" / "Big Fun"(Kool and the Gang, announced by Jerry Sanders) / "Rubberneckin'"(Randy Haney/Albert Sims/Elvis Presley) / "Mickey"(Toni Basil).

The Tape & Record Show: Episode 384, Broadcast Friday, April 8, 1983 at 10:00pm central. Theme Music: Runaway(Bill Conti). "I Can't Go For That"(Daryl Hall and John Oates) / "The Elvis Presley Story, Part 27: Wooden Heart" / "Love Is In Control"(Donna Summer, announced by Jerry Sanders) / "Dallas: No More Mister Nice Guy: Part 1" - Part Two of the five part "Who Shot J.R.?" story arc. A cleaning woman finds J.R. unconscious on the floor outside his office; he's been shot. Police search for evidence as to who shot him. / "You Make My Dreams Come True"(Randy Haney/James Stricklin/Daryl Hall and John Oates) / "Pearl,Pearl,Pearl"(Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs)."

If these episodes sound familiar, it's because the "Dallas: Who Shot J.R.?" arc was first "aired" on "The Tape and Record Show" near the end of season two, although it was broken up into nine parts. This time however, it was "broadcast" in the normal five-part one hour installments, with new interstitials inserted into these "newer" versions, thus making them "new" episodes.
