Missing Blocks

I was getting tired of cannibalizing old cassettes made from LPs to use to get parts for old "Tape and Record Show" recordings from 40 and more years ago, so finally sprung for a couple cassette repair kits instead. Found a solution to a MAJOR issue with the old tapes, rotted pressure pads, on Amazon. However, Amazon apparently offers NOTHING PRACTICAL for splicing broken audio cassettes, so I ordered an overly expensive splicing block from a third part site not listed on Amazon, which includes a roll of splicing tape.

I used to have a splicing block I bought in the 80's from Radio Shack, but it seems to have disappeared after the ex did in the 90's. I've searched the house numerous times, and can't find it. As if I needed ANOTHER reason to hate the ex!
