Existing and Missing Episodes
Transferred another five "half hours" from the Tape and Record Show Enterprises audio archives from cassettes to digital this evening, from the tail end of season two of the flagship series "The Tape and Record Show", the pretend radio show I started in 1979...

A rebroadcast of CBS News live coverage from the day President Ronald Reagan was shot. Parts Nine-Eleven, in three half hour segments, broadcast in a row. **CURRENTLY MISSING**: Episodes 214 and 215 are currently missing from the archives and can't be digitized at this time.
The Tape & Record Show: Episode 216. Broadcast Tuesday, April 14,1981 at 5:00pm central. Theme Music: Asteroid Field(John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra). "The Gong Show" - Acts include a man singing "My Way", a group singing "Good Hearted Woman", and the Gong Show team "Twinkletoes and Twinklenose". / "Girl On The Magazine Cover"(Harry Macdonough)."
As you may notice in the program descriptions, two half hour episodes originally "broadcast" on Saturday, April 11, 1981 are currently missing, due to the audio cassette containing the material being "lost". The two episodes would have contained the remainder of the CBS News live coverage I recorded of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan.
Episode 216 was an "abbreviated" episode of "Fantasy Island" I "edited on the fly" the episode to only contain the plot of ONE of the two "fantasies" usually featured in a one hour episode.
Didn't occur to me until today after all these years, but episodes 217 and 218 had one thing in common, men dressing as women.
Episode 224 featured the audio from one of Stu Shostak's all time favorite competition shows (I keed). Took some tape skimming to find the episode described on the old original "broadcast" index card, since there were two audio cassettes in the "archives" only labeled as "The Gong Show", with no other details on the tape label.
