After watching a live online video podcast, then another episode of "Station Eleven" on HBO Max this evening, figured I had enough "energy" left in me for another half hour Tape and Record Show Enterprises digital conversion, so I transferred episode 27 of Dennis Goodwin's TRSE edited version of "The Independent Sampler". Yes, the word "Orbit" is missing... "The Independent Sampler: Episode 27. Broadcast Monday, June 29, 1987 at 9:30pm central. Theme Music: The Avengers Theme(Laurie Johnson). Second season opener, featuring a new name and a new theme music. Songs Include: Working In Corners(Nancy Griffith), Rising For The Moon(Fairport Convention), Marlene On The Wall(Suzanne Vega), Cloudbusting(Kate Bush), Airpocket(Fowler Brothers), Don't Burn Down The Bridge(Alison Moyet)." New name for "Orbit's Independent Sampler" for the fake TRSE "season two" edited tapes from the original ACTUAL local radio broadcast of the show on weekends, since the record shop unfortunately closed during that time. Pre-internet, if I wanted something "obscure", Dennis was my go-to person. He could special order almost anything, with a few really obscure exceptions. After the episode digitized this evening, the edited half hours were all over the map date wise, because that was around the time TRSE was in serious "flux" in production. So... later episodes of Dennis' show were "aired" on the Tape and Record Show Enterprises versions literally a few YEARS after the local radio broadcast.
