Three Little Curse Words

My "flagship" digitization of the original "Tape and Record Show" hit a small "snag" this evening, when one of the source tapes for a segment broke off of the cassette hub. I'm okay with splicing broken tapes, or replacing the housing when a pressure pad has rotted away over the years, but I'm no good at getting tape re-attached to a take up hub if it becomes disconnected, especially if the old, cheap blank tape had no "leader", which this one didn't. I had a VERY limited budget in the late '70's/early '80's, so most of the stuff I recorded then were on "budget cassettes". I'm kind of amazed most of them are still playable after 42 years or more.

Anywho, I got the next two one hour "weekend" episodes digitized by using an "alternate source". I once said I'd only purchase movies I like on physical media, but made an exception tonight. "Three Little Words" has always been one of my favorite old musicals anyway, so I bought a digital copy, and used the audio for the transfer. I know the digital version could vanish at any time, but hopefully Amazon and AT&T (current owner of the old MGM library) has a decent contract in place, so I can watch it again when in the mood for the foreseeable future. The original cassette was recorded back when the local PBS station would air old musicals in the afternoons on weekends.
