Completed a couple more hours digitizations from the Tape and Record Show Enterprises "archives" tonight...
"The Tape & Record Show: Episode 120. Broadcast Tuesday, July 15,1980 at 5:00pm central. Theme Music: Imperial March(John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra). "Kings of Comedy" - LP record compilation hosted by George Burns. Jerry Sanders and Albert Sims host the show, which this week features a live satellite appearance by The Jacksons singing "Can You Feel It". Other songs include: Taxman(Rockwell), Money Talks(Rick James), Desire(The Gap Band).

The "Tape and Record Show" episode was yet another I surprised myself that I was able to locate the original badly recorded audio cassettes from that time to complete the digitization. The "Kings of Comedy" segment was from an album I must have borrowed from the public library, since it's not in my LP collection. The "Fabulous 50's" segment was from a television special. Can't remember which network aired it however. In 1980, the LP would have been recorded onto cassette via the old monophonic cassette recorder, microphone held next to cheap turntable speaker, thus the TERRIBLE sound quality. You can even hear me cough in the background a couple of times during the recording.
The two "Hit Parade" episodes were the first two of Jerry's fourth "season" with TRSE. Theme music and format change. Previously, the series had Jerry and an occasional guest just announcing the songs. This season, the show matched closer other Tape and Record Show Enterprises music oriented shows, with "banter" between songs by Jerry and his guest hosts. In the closing theme, Jerry started referring to himself as "Magnum JES", instead of Jerry Sanders.
