James, Jerry, Ricky, and Me In Mirages...
Took a "digitization break" yesterday. Transferred three more "broadcast episodes" from the Tape and Record Show Enterprises archives this evening...

All three of these consecutively "broadcast" episodes had old "clanghead" Ricky Bargery making an appearance, who was with TRSE for maybe a hot month or so, before vanishing into the abyss. He was an odd character introduced to me by James and Michelle at the time. I was in "character" as TRS janitor/sound engineer "Calvert Mimms".
In episode 34, a laugh track was added for some odd reason. James announces at the start of the show that starting with that episode, there'd be a slight format change, with a new theme music. I must not have noticed that latter statement during my original edit, or either the new theme hadn't been recorded yet, because all three of these episodes still had the old "Can You Feel It" theme, slightly edited, with the reference James used to make about the "Happy Hour" sometimes appearing in that time slot instead, edited out. A couple of times in the episode, "Calvert" and Ricky would get into a conversation, not giving James a chance to get a word in edgewise. Last song was "edited for time".
Episode 35 was another "sound effect" episode. This time, instead of a laugh track, it was "restaurant ambiance", constantly looped from a sound effects record I have in the archives. These effects were added after the original "recording session" in editing. James probably didn't know beforehand I was going to do that, since it isn't mentioned in the episode. I personally made a brief announcement after the opening theme that the episode was recorded "live at Shoney's in West Monroe"... which it actually wasn't. It was recorded in the TRSE "main studio"...at my house. The West Monroe "Shoney's" no longer exists today. The property where it was located is now an AT&T store. At the close of the episode, not written in the program description on the original "broadcast card", was a sound comparison between the 45rpm copy of Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" and the CD copy. Impossible to tell any difference with the "restaurant ambiance" overlay. Eventually, I may have to try and locate the "master tape" and convert it, since it wouldn't include the sound effects.
Episode 36, with no "effects", started with a fake "guess the song contest" for the first tune. Since none of these shows were ever ACTUALLY "broadcast" over the airwaves, no prizes would have actually been given. Jerry "accidentally" had his mic off most of the episode, you mostly hear him in the "distance" as a result, until the end.
