The cassette holding the two "Song Mirage" episodes was driving me kinda NUTS. Another of the old tapes with a nasty "squeal" in parts during playback. They were on the same cassette with the "Music Time" episode I transferred yesterday evening. Even changing the tape housing didn't really fix the issue with that cheap assed Kmart "SEL Sound Tech" brand cassette. Luckily, Kmart is quickly fading into oblivion. In order to get the shows transferred with minimal "squealage", I fast forwarded and rewound the tape a few times, which also added extra time to the project.
James was apparently awaiting a phone call from the Air Force in episode 32. He also makes a comment about songs on compact disc, and how everyone would probably notice the improved sound quality on those songs on his show. Well, NOT on the cheap assed tape the show was recorded on! Can't blame the host though. The fault for the cheap assed cassettes was the cheap assed Tape and Record Show Enterprises (namely ME).
As for "The TRS Music Show", I always tried to "push the envelope" to see just HOW many "religious conservative" people I could offend. Episode 23 was a prime example of my efforts. I make no apologies. Those people still "irk" me, probably even more so today than back then.
