Being all these shows are audio only, including these earliest "The Tape & Record Show" episodes, any lack of "announcing" or "narration" can be a bit "jarring" when something unexpected comes on, such as in episode 11 of the series. The "filler material" for the one hour episode, to pad the show out, the cartoon soundtrack, appears at the midway point of the "Salvage 1" episode, without a segue. The way the show was put together, it takes a few seconds to realize "Salvage 1" has an "intermission". Fun fact: During the closing theme music in the "Salvage 1" recording, you hear the ABC Network announcer reading promos for other shows, since I audio taped the episode during the original network airing. That said... how many folks still remember that short lived Andy Griffith series?

Even at age 13, I think I realized that I needed "filler material" for some half-hour "Tape & Record Show" "broadcasts" after episode 12, especially for audio from more "modern" TV shows. Theme music could pad shows like "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Gilligan's Island" closer to a full half hour, but since more recent shows had more ads in their broadcast, and I didn't include the ads, I needed some filler, since the "Family Feud" episode ran a few seconds less than 25 minutes, even WITH the opening/closing TRS theme music. The episode I "broadcast" the next day, I threw in a Will Rogers commentary off an album I had checked out and recorded from the library around that time. Yes, I was into stuff like Will Rogers at that age.

Not much to comment on concerning the "Hit Parade" episodes. Jerry recorded those at his house in his spare time, just announcing and playing the songs. He'd then give me the original tape he made, I'd edit them into half hours, adding the opening/closing theme music he recorded in the "TRSE" main studio, then I returned the "master" to him. In hindsight, I should have dubbed the entire masters also, then "maybe" that fourth episode wouldn't currently be "lost". Although, even though I haven't gotten to certain early "Tape & Record Show" episodes, I'm nearly positive a few of those will be amiss also. After 42 years, things tend to vanish.
