Paul, Moran, and Rednecks
The digitization project of the old "Tape & Record Show Enterprises" "broadcasts" continues. This evening, episodes 7-9 of "Paul's Country Corral", hosted by Paul Morrison. Not much to say about these episodes, except that, on episode 7, Paul co-hosted as himself and "Lester 'Road Hog' Moran", in other words, he was two people. He got a bit confused at the end. When he was supposed to be "himself", he accidentally used his 'Road Hog' voice.
Contents of the episodes transferred this evening, from the original hand-written index card broadcast files...

Paul and his alter-ego "Lester 'Road Hog' Moran" host this week's program. Songs: Trust Yourself(Bob Dylan), This Ain't Dallas(Hank Williams Jr), Cocaine(Jackson Browne), Honky Tonk Hero(Waylon Jennings), Old Friends(Willie Nelson/Roger Miller/Ray Price), and God Bless The USA(Lee Greenwood).
Paul's Country Corral: Episode 8. Broadcast Wednesday, April 2, 1986 at 8:00pm central. Theme Music: Soul to Soul(Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble). Paul's Country Corral: Episode 8. Broadcast Wednesday, April 9, 1986 at 8:00pm central. Theme Music: Soul to Soul(Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble). Paul plays songs by people who don't hump the stage. Songs: Are There Any More Real Cowboys(Neil Young/Willie Nelson), Till I Got Used To The Rain(John Anderson), After You(Dan Seals), far Away Eyes(Rolling Stones), Sometimes I Get Lucky And Forget(Gene Watson), and Two Old Cats Like Us(Hank Williams Jr/Ray Charles)."
A few other notes: After Randy Newman's "Rednecks" song in episode 8, Paul mentions he likes living in the South, except for Jerry Sanders also living there. Not really sure what Paul actually had AGAINST Jerry, but... there it is. Then again, Paul never "interacted" with anyone else in the TRSE organization on tape. It was always just he and I in "studio" when he recorded his shows. I controlled the recording equipment. As for the song "Rednecks", if you listen close, it is NOT a "racist" song, even with the language used. Randy Newman is pointing out how ignorant and stupid a lot of redneck southerners are, and I agree with him, even though I'm unfortunately surrounded by a lot of them, some of them relatives.
