40 Years and a Laugh Track

Another, "You had to be there" post to know WTF I'm rambling on about...

Just completed digitizing the audio cassette* of the first three episodes of "James Stricklin and Friends", the short lived fake radio show my friends and I made in the 80's. This was a re-edited, half hour "series" featuring skits from the earlier "James Stricklin Happy Hour" series, made for convenient "repeats" in our line-up. When I rediscovered the tapes for the conversion project, I assumed the skits were just edited a bit for time and in a different order to fit the format, but I apparently had COMPLETELY forgotten, that for the edited series, I had also added a laugh track and sound effects to skits which originally didn't have them.

This WAS however, nearly 40 years ago, and the tapes have been stored in my closet most of that time, not being listened to. So, gimme a break. I'm ALLOWED to "forget" details after a few decades! 🤪

*=The three edited "broadcast versions", half hour each, were all on a C-90 cassette. You'd hear a small "chop" mid second episode as a result.
