Cassette Conversion Woes

Before I convert any more of the old cassettes to digital, I need to figure out why the right channel didn't transfer over from the USB cassette deck on the last couple of tapes. Only got the left channel, but in BOTH channels. Just ordered an adapter cable to try with an older cassette deck I have in the living room, to try connecting it to the desktop PC instead. The new cable will run from the cassette deck RCA outputs to the 3.5mm line-in input on the desktop, bypassing USB completely.
