Chilly Bad Luck

Will my bad luck ever stop? Coldest night of the year so far, supposed to be even colder tonight... and the heating unit decides to go on the fritz! Have one portable heater, I put it in moms room, since she's recovering from an inner ear infection. Me, I'm just dressed heavily. To help heat the back of the house, I turned on the oven (electric, not gas) and opened the door on it. ☹
