Going out of my mind! [Jul. 8th, 2009|09:12 am]

Whoever started all this new scheduling shit is full of shit! Once again, I drive to work... time clock says "Rejected, Not Scheduled" when I swipe my badge. I find a manager, who refuses to clock me in, because I'm neither on the computer generated schedule for today, nor "written in" on it, although my department manager told me to be there... but she's not there to confirm that I'm supposed to be there!

As usual, I'm NOT going to sit around waiting till the department manager gets there, so I come on back home. It won't count against me, since I'm not on the computer generated schedule anyway. The department manager is fed up also, she has already told us, as of next week, just follow what the computer spits out... she's tired of trying to fix the schedule, since she gets no cooperation from the assistant manager over our part of the store! Guarantee, there will be shifts where NO ONE is in the dairy on a given shift as a result!

Computer generated work hours for me this coming Saturday = 2pm-6pm! WTF?!? 4 hours?!? Geesh!

Aparently they WANT to screw their customer base... [Jan. 21st, 2009|10:01 pm]

Interesting blog post I stumbled upon thanks to a random site viewer... Wally World is screwing up on their scheduling nation wide, not just here. Today, one of the floral ladies got a complaint from a customer while she was in the front of the store stocking the floral section, about the long line at the register. Few check-outs were open via the new scheduling (some cashiers have three weeks off according to the dairy manager, who is my immediate manager). She paged a store co-manager... not sure if it helped the irrate customer or not.

I'm off tomorrow and Friday, go back Saturday morning at 5am. The dairy manager, Mary Jo, a lady in her 50's, will be in the department by herself tomorrow from 7am-1pm, until Wilbur and Kenny get to work. Department managers, from what I understand from her, are instructed to not deal with "stock" directly, which leads me to understand (and she understands the same way from an email from corporate) to not stock ANYTHING! She has already said the 5 or 6 pallets of milk won't be downstacked off the pallets until Wilbur and Kenny get there tomorrow (they are both scheduled at 1pm), she isn't risking her back (which I fully understand!), and if the rest follows through, by 1pm tomorrow afternoon, there won't be ANY milk on the shelves OR eggs in the bunker!

I thought Burger King was farked up after "Sydran" purchased franchise rights for this area... national Wal-Mart is even worse! Are they trying to follow K-Mart's lead?!?

/sarcasm
//as Wilbur once said, "Wal-Mart doesn't consider the dairy important"
///Wally will go out of business fast at the rate they are going... plenty of grocery/hardware/electronic alternatives in this area now!

Possible Mass Exodus? [Jan. 17th, 2009|11:38 am]

Because of all the changes in longtime employee work shifts, and the cutting down to 2-4 days per week for some, several are saying if this persists for long, they will be looking for a new job. The Wal-Mart home office, in their "infinite wisdom", have told the store managers that they have to abide by whatever the computer generated work schedules spit out, and NO changes can be made. EVERYONE'S schedule is severely screwed up at this time. Some shifts will have NO ONE working in certain departments at certain times of the day. I've heard that a couple of days this coming week, no cart collectors and only three cashiers are on the schedule. With no service, and no one at times to stock product, I'm predicting customers will abandon the store in droves!

My schedule for the week: 1-10pm today and Sunday, off Monday, 5am-2pm Tuesday and Wednesday, then off again Thursday AND Friday! I might be able to survive on 32 hrs/week temporarily, but if it lasts too long... goodbye Dish Network! Son won't be happy, but something will have to go!
